Pup Portrait Studio
Print & Web Design
Judy Thompson and I met a few years ago during our dog training classes at the Lucky Dog Company in Naples, Florida. She shared with me that she wanted a website to promote her new business Pup Portrait Studio: Watercolors and Photography by Judy Thompson, and I shared with her that I wanted to start designing websites. We’re both educators, we both love our dogs and enjoy training them, and we both find joy in being creative. I call it serendipity! I’m grateful she asked me to build her first website, which was my second site.
I built my first website from scratch in 2009, almost seven years before working with Judy. By the time Judy asked me to build her site, I was rusty and wanted to simplify the web design process. We researched site-builder templates and hosting companies, and we chose a template service based on their customer reviews and affordable hosting packages.
Since then Judy asked me to create for her Pup Portrait Studio business (images are above):
-
a black and white print advertisement for Top Notch Toys magazine, a print and online magazine for toy dog lovers;
-
a color catalog print advertisement for a recent Papillon Dog Show and business cards specifically for the Show;
-
two sets of business cards; and
-
stationery that she uses to promote her business.
Judy and I recently collaborated again on her new website and business cards for Judy Thompson: Watercolor Addict. She’s added several business ventures to her repertoire and wants to promote her other watercolor and photography passions through her new site. Take a look at our new, creative collaborations via my project page Watercolor Addict.
Design Note:
The Boston Terrier – Ellie – featured in Judy’s work is my beautiful, cherished scoobie. Ellie is my Earth angel and supervisor of all my design work!
Versatility is my strength and passion.
Finally – My Next Chapter!
Welcome and thank you for visiting my web and digital design portfolio. I’m Beth (Beth A. Maxwell – BAM), and I’m glad you’re here!
Many great things have happened for me in the last couple of years. My dreams to become a graphic designer are now a reality. After almost 28 years as a public-school educator (two master’s degrees in education and 24 years in two school districts), I was blessed with the opportunity to become a full-time student. During my recent semi-retirement in Naples, Florida, I studied digital design software to enhance my skills and to transition to my next, professional chapter. Even more exciting – I’m looking forward to combining my journalism and communication skills from my first degree with my graphic design passion to help you promote your passions.
When you’re ready to talk about a new website or your plans to revise your current site, graphic design ideas or if you need help with understanding/using technology, please contact me.
I’m looking forward to collaborating with you.
